We are back and we have a great new album for you. Releasing on September 15th we have the Department of Works: Volume One // Signs & Signals.
The Department of Works album ‘Signs & Signals’ is an extension of previous Glove of Bones & Cousin Silas collaborations that also includes musical parts and contributions from Hans Castrup (whose interventions are profound and skilled), izzyhereyet and his colleagues Ursula, Emma & Elliot from RWCMD. Finally, the masked and anonymous ‘Fawkes’, who prompted the creation of the GoB ‘Fawkes Mask’ album. More about that HERE.
The musical stems for Archiatis, Remedias, Focilia & Convalendian were sent anonymously by ‘Fawkes Mask’ and kick started this investigation into lost islands, mysterious occurrences, strange science and occult conjuring.Â
Each piece takes a painterly approach, overlaying or collaging sound textures from disconnected sources to the root pieces. Credit at this point to German sound archeologist Hainbach, whose wonderful plugins and filters released through Audiothing have coloured this series almost throughout.

The cover art and track images were created in the popular Midjourney AI application using the track names as the core prompt. You can cruise those below.

My huge thanks to the kind souls who have contributed to the project. The release will be followed up by a remix version that has had the assistance of the Ensemble De Cadavres Exquis.
SubCastCo are offering a very limited cassette edition, they are very lovely but probably only 10-12 will make it to market, so jump in quick if that’s your jig.
We hope this one is well received. It has taken longer to get it over the line than previous albums. The collaborators on this have provide some amazing additions.Â
We will also be releasing an album of extreme remix variations with tracks by many of those amazing artists who did the Exquisite Corpse albums.
